Not sure about the 9800 Pro overclock, but the 2.4 @ 3.1 isn't that uncommon, even with the retail heatsink/fan.

Glad to see you're actually stress testing it before handing it over. :)

Looks good so far, and I'd say you've got a happy customer.

Congrats to him. 3.1 is more difficult than you might think. I'm stuck @ 3.0 and Windows acts funny sometimes despite being Prime95 stable...

set it up to run at 3.32 with prime 95 during lunch a few hours ago, hoping for the best when I get home!

What board??? It is not uncommon for the ram timings and ratios to be drastically reduced once we get high in the fsb like 255+-300 range....

My 2.4c does 3.4ghz at default vcore but since my vdimm is maxed at 2.8v on this abit mobo I am limited to 3:2 ratio but 2,5,3,3 Turbo timings...I could do 480mhzddr w/ 2.8v with 1:1 ratio and my 2.6c@3.033ghz but ram wont touch that once I get past the 250's for fsb...

The heat is a it high at that point so I need an aftermarket cooler and I doubt stock can do this without possible issues...

Ultimately I can hit 3.5ghz w/ 1.58v actual and heat is bareable but this is about the line...That is 292fsb and I think these chips start getting flaky around 300 pretty fast...

The max3 has much better power lines and I am sure if you bump 2.9v on the ddr you can prolong its ratio and timings a bit longer....

For me an my abit Ic7 after 260fsb I lost 5:4 ratio eventhough the ram ran at 480mhz ddr w/ 1:1 and 233fsb.....My VDDT is muchmore weakened then the max3 and plus my vdimm actually undervolts to 2.78v when set to maximum 2.8v...I ventuer the guess the high fsb is draining so much from everything else and that is the reason the ram needs boosted and hence the vdimm mods and 3.3v mods for my board....Max3 solved some of these issues and even put heatsinks on the mosfetts....pwm temp I see is related to that area and it can hit 42-43c under load for me....

i am curious to no what some of your other benchmarking scores are, like 3DMark03, and 01, as well as PCMark04, and Aquamark03.

What games do you play on that comp?
