does anyone elses room get way too overheated when they leave the computer on for a long time?? if not then what kinda cooling/fan do you use for your cpu? i have a small room and what i think is a decent fan/heat sink but it stills feels way too hot.. btw my comp is on about 12-15 hours a day..oh yeah it feels like this year long not only in the summer

A lot more heat is probably coming from the monitor than the tower. Try setting your monitor to shut off after 20 minutes or so if you haven't done so already.

There are three computers in my living room right now, and yes it gets hot. I just use good coolers and drink a lot of "drinks." ;)

LOL... yea, my room is the hottest in the house, and that's b/c I have one big tower and a 21" monitor running nearly 24/7! If the radiation doesn't kill me, the heat exhaustion probably will ;)

My mom and all my friends complain about the room i have my comp in, damn i am even cold right now, its 90 outside, but according to the thermometer its 61 in here, a bit cold... I have a 11,800 btu ac running constant at level 7 cooling, its nice though because its hard to hear all my fans, and my 1.0ghz @ 1.2ghz piii idles at 77...

The monitor does it to me.
I can leave my Tower on all day no problem, but the monitor will heat the room up in half an hour or less.

If the monitor is not the culprit a thought:

If you case was not designed to be run with the cover on it, and thus the air flow does not depend upon a closed system...Open up the case! I have done this with many 486s and brought the temperature to well below 100 F, and even increased the performance. Also, I have a 6" diameter HoneyWell fan just blowing from one computer output into the open case of another. This works really well, but loud (I like it though, it covers up the sound of the two SCSI drives) ...

Just a suggestion.

My room was getting way too hot until I put a vent on the comp which direced the heat out to a window.
