My right hand is spasmising...

It's usually not metacarpel, but just muscle fatigue from holding your hand in the same spot for hours. Metacarpel should feel like your wrist tensing up, if you have to use the computer for a long time as your job or something, best thing to prevent metacarpel is to take a few minutes to stretch your arm/wrist out.

i had carpal tunnel once i think...never again. it was when i played ARC (attack retrieve capture or something) from WON.net. kickass game, played 4 hours straight. game requires a lot of key pressing and button clicking and lo and behold. my wrists hurted so much when i tried to move them.

You just don't get carpal tunnel and have it disappear. That's why it's called a syndrome because it's conditions take a while to heal. You only had swelling due to repeative motion. Once the swelling dissipated, the pain went away.

As how to prevent this from happening, you need to change you mousing posture. Avoid just using your wrist to move around the mouse. You need to use your entire forearm to reduce the wear and tear on your wrist. I've been using this orthopedic device and no longer feel any tension in my wrist by the end of the work day. Without it, I suffered some pain, but never ever had my muscles spasms.
