My right front passenger tire on my CRV is flat

My front right (passenger) tire on my 2008 CRV is flat, and it's currently riding on a spare. I plan on scheduling an appointment to take it into the shop to get a new tire. Do I need to replace the other front tire (left driver) also?

My wife took the CRV to MrTire this morning. They're saying that we need to replace all 4 tires since the car has about 27k miles on it and it's AWD.

Typically for AW/4W vehicles, all 4 tires need to replace at the same time, unless the tires are fairly new. I did a quick google search and read a few opinions on this, and most people agree.

So we're going to have all four replaced. They're having a special, so it's going to run us about $500.

Depends how worn it was, on an AWD car you don't want much difference in the size of the tires.

how long did you ride the spare? as long as the wear between the 2 fronts are close, you are fine, assuming you can repair it. If it is not pluggable, you have to replace at least 2.

It is unlikely that he'd even notice it with that car...especially if the other tires aren't very worn.

Edit-Dave, if they do end up replacing both front tires have them rotate them to the rear of the vehicle. Next time you rotate them I'd look seriously into getting new front tires too as you don't want worn tires in the rear and new tires up front.

Your owner's manual will tell you what the tolerance is for tread difference between driven wheels. It should, at least.

If the 3 remaining tires had a lot of tread left and you could find an exact replacement tire, you could have it shaved down. But at 27K you're probably just going to want to replace all 4.

look at prices on tire rack might be alot cheaper. Tire Kingdom had a tire for 169 +installation tire rack had them for 99 big difference when buying all 4.

Try to find a used one with comparable tread?

Friends s10 extreme needed 1 one after he got flat (he put tires on it 35k miles ago) took it to friendly tire, found a comparable tire and he got away with it for $25 bux

The CRV is a very common vehicle, I'm sure you can find a used tire easily .

I think I needed 4 new tires though. The S10 extreme is RWD

yep, tirerack is cheaper for the tires, but once you add mounting and balancing, it's not always cheaper

I'm a little dissapointed with MrTire

We paid about $550 for 4 tires+allignment. This included a special, buy 3 tires get 1 free.

I thought it was a decent deal. Turns out that they put on Goodyear Integrity tires on my CRV and their list price for them was $144 each.

So essentially, what I paid for was (estimate, I vaguely remember these numbers):

Goodyear Integrity tires x 3 @ $144 = $432
Allignment 85
Labor 8
Tax 25
Total $550

Last night, I did some reviews on the Goodyear Integrity tires, and other places are selling this tire for $99-$109 each. Also, this tire has horrible reviews.

So I got 4 crappy tires on my CRV at a price I thought was a bargain, but was actually higher than competitors.

I did, but it was after the fact.

And the car was driving on a spare, and we needed it fixed ASAP

Just recently I got a flat on my 08 mazda 3 that has 29,000 miles. I wasn't that bothered because I was planning on getting new tires as the tread was down to almost the bare minimum. The new tires I got have a non-prorated tire hazard warranty (they'll replace it for free if there's legal tread left) and 60,000 mile prorated warranty, so they'll probably last quite a bit longer. They are rated very highly too.
