Overview: The movie starts off placing Lincoln 6-Echo (Ewan McGregor) and Jordan 2-Delta (Scarlett a.k.a hawtness Johansson) as clones in a matrix-ish utopia in the mid-21 century.

These clones dont know they are clones. They are told that they were the last human survivers in "The Contamination".

The term "The Island" is from a lottery that takes place in the Utopia/Clone Facility...this "lottery" occurs every week. Each week one person from the clone facility is chosen to live on the Island...which they are told is the last safest piece of real land on Earth. This gives the clones hope...it gives them a purpose.

Progressing through the movie you find that Lincoln 6-Echo becomes very curious about "The Island" and if it truly exists

Preformance: Between McGregor and Johansson, McGregor steals the show. Not only does McGregor have twice as much dialog then Johansson, he just plays the part well. Johassons Character was decent at best, but nothing note-worthy...she is still ultra hawtness though...(Comparing to McGregor at least, Johansson steal does a very fine job..)

Besides staring Johanson and McGregor, Steve Buscemi has a nice role in this film as well. (Reservoir Dogs)

Directing: Ill have to tell you, Im not a big fan of Michael Bay. But this movie may change that, the directing was probably the best out of his recent films. The Camra work was probably the best part of the movie, the ending scene and the dreaming scenes truly show Michael Bays hidden talent..even though all his other movies were absolute suckage.

Conclusion: Recommended, I liked it more then WoTW..much better acting. He could have simmered down on the action scenes..but I guess thats what you should expect from Michael Bay. In relation to other movies, the action sequences were alot like Minority Reports fused in with I, Robot.....a little futuristic and fairly dark..

8.1/10

Feel free to comment in this thread/critic my review...im not a professional so dont be upset if you find that my reviews were mis-leading after you see the movie (if you see it)

Did anyone else catch the screening of this film?

You should write a nonspoiler review considering most people here haven't seen it yet

they filmed this movie in Detroit, it blocked quite a few streets last summer! we were able to look out our office building last year down onto the set and saw fake street signs and futuristic vehicles. they even put up a huge tag heuer sign on Larned Street, where a small diner is at.

I hate it so much when the studios do that $hit, like in SWAT. It was so stupid and pointless. Ruins the movies.

I think they're kinda funny :)

Just about every movie does them these days.

Just like I, Robot and Minority Report? I guess it comes naturally in futuristic dystopian movies?
