my retail duron fan is 8000rpm??

My epox usdm software and bios both say the fan is at ~8000rpm,
is this real?

I have no idea! In the netherlands there is absolutly no way of getting a retail AMD cpu. But it seems a bit high to me.

My retail Duron cooler spins around 7180rpm, I think 8000rpm is a bit too high, but it is a high spinning fan! And noisy, luckily my Taisol is on the way..
