OVERVIEW
I'd like to see if I can get more eye candy out of my ti4200 card. How will enabling AA and AS effect my gaming?

GAMING RIG
P4 2.26@2.38
768MB PC1066 RDRAM
Albatron ti4200p 128MB @275/550
Nvidia Drivers 44.03
80GB ATA133 7200RPM

BENCHMARKS
RTCW v1.41 1280x1024 Max Detail Settings
Checkpoint Demo

RESULTS
No AA * No AS * No Texture Quality = Average 107fps

2xAA * 2xAS * Texture Quality = Average 73fps

4xAA * 4xAS * Texture Quality = Average 54fps

4xAA * 8xAS * Texture Quality = Average 32fps

CONCLUSION
Visually these extra eye candy?s are great (demo goes to fast to tell), but even with 2x it takes too much of a performance hit for me. When looking at the benchmarks out there it looks like my benchmark in right in line causing the performance to drop down to 1/3. It looks like its no extra eye candy for me until I upgrade.

FEED BACK
Do you think it?s the drivers, hardware or combination? If it?s the drivers why doesn?t Nvidia fix it.

Anyone else want to run through this for me? It would be nice to see similar hardware with an ATI card.

*Tomorrow I'll post 3dMarks2001 and UT2003. Why? Because I want to know...so you do to!
