My razer Copperhead is dying, any way to clean/fix it?

I've had this mouse for a really long time and its age appears to be catching up on me. The scroll wheel can still click, but does not scroll anymore. The real problem though is that Ive lost the ability to repeatedly click the left mouse button. Basic use is normal, but it doesn't register fast and rapid hits anymore.

Obviously I have to periodically clean off the dirt/crud/grime that gets on it. Recently I cleaned off an area right near the edge of the lmb and I think maybe some dirt got underneath the button. That or the sensor got dislodged.

Is there a way to safely lift up the button to see whats going on or should I just get myself a new mouse for Christmas?

i've replaced the buttons in my copperhead

just buy a cheap $5 mouse and desolder the buttons
they are rated for a certain number of clicks and then they start to wear down.

if you've ever used a soldering iron you'll find it easy.

Also the contact between the button and plastic that touches the top of the button wore down a bit on mine, so I glued a thin peice of plastic on it.
