Hey. I just purchased a pc133 256mb sdram dimm module and installed it, but my computer only recognizes it as a 128mb! I've switched slots with my other module, a pc100 64mb sdram dimm, but my memory is still recognized as only 192mb total. I have a P3 450. Any suggestions, or is it just a bad chip?

Umm, does your motherboard have support for PC133... and why did you mix a PC100 with a PC133? The most I would say is get a PC100 stick

Thats a simple one. Thank goodness, a simple problem for once ;) That memory is probably double density memory ( really cheep memory ) If you are running ANY intel baised machine, it will not find all 256 megs of it. only 128 megs. If you are running a AMD baised, the Dbl density only work with some chipsets. Ask they person/company that you got the memory from what density it is. There were probably 200 posts like this same exact one in the last 6 months since the x64 ( dbl density chips) came out. It just means that your comp does not support it. Try some meory from crucial. Spend a little more, get the good stuff ;)
