The fan on my radeon 9500 card has been entirely too loud for a while. Does anyone has suggestions for a cheap and easy fan to replace it with. I don't want to spend a lot of money b/c it's an older card and will probably be replaced this winter.

"you get what you pay for"

I know that Zalman has some GREAT products. I use their
cpu fan myself (7000B Cu) and is 100% satisfied. But they
aren't the cheapest...

If the card you're planning on buying is a Nvidia of some
new sort it could also be interesting to consider water-cooling
since Nvidia:s sound like vaccum-cleaners and you can move
the water-cooling system.

If planning on an ATI though I know that the ASUS X800-series
has a special extra large fan that is near dead silent. I know
this myself since I have one and the Chassi-fans sounds
more than the video-card! Oh - and those are Papst-
chassi-fans by the way.

Well - I hear that the latest editions of 6800 Ultra and so are
much better than the first samples. But that they still are
much louder than ATI:s.

As for the GT - I really haven't heard anything yet ( wuah wuah ).

Guess that if a 6800GT owner would lend his oppinion it could help.

There is no real debate - buy an Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer for the 9500. You will get better cooling and much quieter operation all in one for about 10 bucks.
