MY Radeon problem update!!!! GOOD NEWS

I just installed the latest VIA 4 in 1 drivers Sniperwulf sent me.... rebooted and timedemoed q2 and got 98 FPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now Sniperwulf how do I change the agp driving to 68. In the bios the only options were auto or manual.. it was auto but i set it to manual.

Im gonna try other games right now.. ill be back and keep you guys posted.

Hmm now I get 102.7 FPS in 1024x768x32 and 104 FPS in 1024x768x16 - QUAKE 2

Counter strike feels really smooth now.

How do I timedemo q3? whats the command.

you have to change it to manual and then adjust it from there.

Also, LMK if you were able to get 4x and sidebands working together. I could never get the 2 to cooperate

This only works with Quake 3 version 1.17 or earlier.

KeNDoGG, glad to see you got it working (finally)!. If you are running Q3 ver 127, you can do a timedemo like this from the console:

timedemo 1
demo demo127

BTW, upgrade to Q3 1.27h beta. You will get a nice FPS increase.

Glad you are finally starting to see improvement. I am extrememly happy with my video card now that its working and Im glad I upgraded (Although I am currently complaining to z-buy about this low clock).

Kendogg, bare in mind that all the benchmarks on review sites for Quake 3 use the 1.17 demo which is different and afaik, produces higher scores. 🙂

Benched my AIW Radeon using Quake3 from the downloadable demo not sure which version. 1024X768 32 bit color and texture 70+fps with detail slider maxed and all eye candy on. With basic HQ settings 92fps. To check video clock speed, download powerstrip, install, advanced options, performance.
