My Radeon 8500 LE OEM CD won't install the DVD player

At least I think the software comes with a DVD player. All I see is a VCD player or a media player. I see a folder for the DVD player on the installation CD but I ran the setup Cd twice and it failed to load the DVD player onto the Multimedia Center little popup or docked taskbar - I cannot seem to be able to play DVD's now - any suggestions? Is this a common bug with the CD software installer?

I just found out that I have a third party card with a Radeon chip - it is not a Radeon card - it is a Powerd by Radeon which means tech support will cost me. I cannot find a DVD player driver or update on ATI's site. My problem is that I load the multimedia Center software, version 7.6 and it does not load the dvd player. I cannot seem to get the DVD player installed. Anyone have a similar problem with this card purchased OEM from NewEgg?

Ok, this is frustrating....

I found out that my card was made by Sapphire Tech and the software included with my card does not include the DVD player. I cannot download the DVD player because I need a product number from the CD and I do not have the right product number from the CD starting with 180 so I cannot download (Does anyone have the product number? hehe?) So I am out of luck I guess....Any recommendations on a DVD player for me?

OK - after further investigation it boils down to this, in order to get the ATI DVD player, I need the CD part number can be located on the left side of the ATI CD, in a clear window and typically starts with 180-. Problem is, I can't find it. I am not sure if I would have it because I have a partnered with ATI product - they probably did not purchase the license for distributing the DVD component with their softwarer (beware the risks of OEM purchases when dealing with software support) - so what do I do now?

just use windvd, powerdvd. they are both better than ATI DVD.

only good thing about ati dvd/media player is that it supports ATI remote control.
