What you all think?:disgust:

I have dumped CMOS twice today before hand and I have a #39 error on my Postman LED (Epox8k7a)
had a few problems before as well with booting.

I second the notion of the battery. I haven't seen any lately, but back in the early 90's, there were a number of programs that slowed or stopped your clock while you were running them. Microsoft Flight Simulator actually made the clock run backwards on many systems. :)

The newest mobos should have a battery that is good for 10yrs and shouldnt need replaced. Does this happen in windows? well change your power settings to always on and network server setting and that might help.

Use a Time Sync program on your startup. Lots of freeware on the net.

What do Mobos use, the CR2032 or whatever it is? I'd suspect a few years use no problem.. unless of course you've had it unplugged for longer periods of time, but that's just a guess.

You can get a 2 pack for 3 bucks so it's not devastating :)

upgrade to WinXP. It automatically keeps your time accurate - cool :)

That is very true :) It updates it once a week automatically, unless you can change it to everyday or so which you may be able to do.

Probably the most useful feature MS has included in recent years.

I dont WANT my os to auto update. I have a shareware util which updates to my colleges atomic clock deal. It will not be the exact same as whatever MS does.

Windows should be an OS... nothing more.

You can pick your time server I believe. And does the one you use adjust for ping or are you always a couple hundred milliseconds off? :)

Yeah, I use a freeware version of atomtime. I manually update my system every evening. It typically loses 2-4 seconds in a day. I can specify which server I want to connect to.

The newer/newest version of atomtime will sit in your systray, and update the time in intervals that you can set.

Interesting, my computer always gains time and so did my old one.
It's a minute or so fast right now and within weeks will be 3+ mins fast.

Course I will be installing Win XP Pro RC2 (MS preview program) sometime this week, so ...
