My puppy pooped out some worms!

So I left the boy in the backyard alone for 2 minutes while I was cleaning his poop in the kitchen. I go outside to go watch him and when I turned the corner I see him picking at the trash bag that had worms all over it. I guess it came from the flies. Anyways, 10 minutes ago I noticed him pooping in the living room. I go pick up the poop and I see dead worms that he must've ate. Good thing I dewormed him and all.

Will this hurt him or anything?

uhh... lol

Worms are an internal parasite... not eaten.

If he ate maggots from your trash, they would be digested.

If you've de-wormed him, there shouldnt be anything to worry about.

I suggest you read up on the subject.

Is he dragging his butt across the floor yet? If he's dewormed, and he was eating maggots, I think he'll be fine.

yea these are maggots. Yea, i noticed him dragging his butt outside.
I don't think you get it.

Maggots are fly larvae. If your dog ate them, there would be no remnants in his feces.

"worms" are an internal parasite. If you have de-wormed him in the past, you need to do it again. If you have done it in the last few days, that is probably why you are seeing dead ones.

I've had a lot of dogs and I've never had a puppy yet that didn't have worms. You may have to have him dewormed more than once. Go to a vet, the dewormer at pet stores never did do the trick for me.

Good advice. Also, if the pup has just recently been dewormed, the medicine kills the worms and they come out in the waste.

what does getting dewormed entail? (i'm not a pet owner or anything, just curious)
A couple of doses of medicine, a couple of nasty poops, a happy puppy

So I am following my jackass dog all over the house cleaning up his poop..... Isnt this the second thread tonight about an dumb dog?
