My puppy got ran over by a truck today...

... in my mind. **phew**

My uncle was moving tools from the back yard, & the family's 3 month old pup(pit/lab mix; light brown; one ear that always stays up; cutest thing) decides to skip out in front of us & out the front door. It stops for a second to tease us, we think we have her, then she darts down the portch & down to the end of the block.

My uncle says he has her, but she picks up speed. Then it dawns on me that this puppy could get killed on that one-way at the end of the block. I'm only in a t-shirt & boxers, since I only just let him in, so here I am, shoe-less, pantless, running down the block after this pup.

She makes it to the end, & starts running down the street. At this point my head is spinning thinking of what might happen. She is almost a quarter way down the other street, when I notice a moving truck heading her way. I almost sh1t myself, but luckily, she scramples back onto the sidewalk. I just barely over-ran her & held her down before she was ready to make her next move.

After heading back home, I realized that the storm door shut & has locked me out. Luckily my brother has just gotten out of class & was on his way home.

I can't imagine what would of happened had she not of gotten out of the way in time.

Cliffies:

Puppy excapes down the block & swerves out of the way of incoming traffic
Half naked owner runs down the block to catch puppy
Owner needs to change his shorts
Sits on porch in his boxers with pup because he locked himself out

Train her to listen to you when you tell her to stop, come, and heel, and you won't have these problems anymore.

We've barely had her for a month; still a baby. She doesn't even recognize her own name yet. Don't worry, she'll listen eventually.

When I had a dog I had to chase the damn thing miles in a creek till I could finally grab the huge 2-year old dog and drag it all the way back home. This kid once came into my house muddy with his dog after chasing the dog. I let them in but the dog pushed open the screen door and off he went again. I dont know what happend to the kid, but I could tell he was far from home.
