My PSU keeps rattling :(

Every few minutes or so, my PSU will start making this rattling sound kind of like a rock bouncing around in a metal can or something like that. The rattling will only last a couple seconds and it's not always the same, but it does this probably every 15 minutes or so. I was thinking that there might be something that's near the fan which would make that sound when it touches the spinning blades. but it seems sort of strange that the sound isn't a constant sound. Anyone have any sort of suggestions short of completely opening up the PSU?

Could easily be heat related... I don't mean over-heating here : a certain part of your PSU can slightly "warp" due to variation of heat within the unit. This can get a part to move enough to either touch the fan (as you mentionned) or even make crackling noises by itself; all getting back to normal after a few seconds...

Your PSU fan might be about to fail; such a trouble doesn't have to produce a constant sound...

Short of openning the PSU (or replacing it / RMA), I don't see how you would be able to pinpoint the fault.
