Need more info.

Does it tick all the time? Cold or running warm w/load?
Did you turn off the rig, insert something to stop the fan, then power-up the PC?
Did the tick stop when you did this?
Did you look inside with a flashlight to see if a wire might be touching the fan?
Is it a ball bearing tick?

This PSU does have an 80mm fan at the rear, does it not?
This will be a fairly high speed fan, producing about 40cfm @ 12V and as such will not have
tight ball bearings. But Fortron does use Nidec or NMB in 80mm and generally these are
VG fans. The 120mm fans Fortron uses are Yate Loon.

If it is the fan and you chose to change it I will give you a good source.

If it's not the fan, I don't know what to say other than some PSU componets can emit a
very low buzz.

Did you turn off the rig, insert something to stop the fan, then power-up the PC?-----yes
Did the tick stop when you did this?-----yes
Did you look inside with a flashlight to see if a wire might be touching the fan?-----i checked but nothing seemed to be touching it. also, this is a recent thing, it didnt always do this, so probably the wire didnt move right?
Is it a ball bearing tick?-----im pretty sure it is, but it doesnt have that griding noise. just an annoying constant tick

This PSU does have an 80mm fan at the rear, does it not?-----no, the fan is actually at the bottom instead of rear. the front fan (facing out) is the one with the problem. If i blow into it really hard it stops for a sec...maybe thats just stopping the fan itself?

Thanks!

I looked up your PSU and only saw a rear 80mm fan.

Can you link a pic to your model number of PSU? I'll stick around till you do.

Does the PSU have two fans? Two 80mm or one 80mm and a 120mm?

The PSU has a thermal control for the fan and when running at low voltage, about 8V,
some clicking can happen when the ball bearings are loose. High speed fans, over 3000rpm,
generally are fitted with a loose fit bearing for long life.

Sounds like it needs a higher grade of fan.

Kind of like sitting in a car, rt & lt are refferanced from the drivers seat.

The front of the PSU is inside the case, ie, closest to you.

Sorry, it sounds like you just use your PSU as intended and the fan ramps up.

If you open or mod the PSU the warrenty is gone but if your willing to do that we can talk about it.

Does you case have decent air flow? What's your fan set-up like?

If you have good intake air flow here's what you could try first.
Using four dots of silicone adhesive bond a 80mm @ 30cfm to the front of the PSU on the intake grill. This will really help to cool the PSU and it's fan won't ramp-up. This will work if you have good case intake air.

Do you want to mod your PSU for a 92mm fan? It would have to be external.

Sorry, after i built my computer i totally forgot about everything :(

My airflow is pretty decent, but during gaming i dont know if it would be sufficient, especially with my GPU temps. Is there anyway i can open the PSU and just replace the fan? I know about the voided warranty, its not much of a problem. Ill kill myself if the noise doesnt go away lol. I wouldnt mind the external fan...is it difficult to do?? Only problem is that some idiot might hurt themselves. Thanks alot for your help galvanized! i really appreciate it.

yes, im willing to spend 20 bucks.

$20 should be fine, i want the best, right? The PSU wont overheat if the fans external? No moving the sensor?

And thanks again :D

Obviously it's the fan. Either the fan blades are hitting something (like a wire), or you should replace the fan with a better one. It's no big deal to open the PSU and have a look inside - just don't do it with the power cord attached.

Hey! I thought you forgot to answer my PM. I never got a reply. What happened?

Link a pic of your case or atleast tell me what brand/type it is. I did PM you that
request. It will determine the fitting of the fan addapter.

You are not well tooled and I'll talk you through doing it with very little tooling. Sheesh!

Do not let anyone encourage you to just put a low cfm fan in your PSU. It's a bad deal
because the PSU fan is the second most important fan your rig has, the CPU being first.

My last post till you either post your case or reply to my PM.
