Turns out it is my controller itself. A buddy has 2 DS4 controllers and neither of his trigger buttons make that squeaky sound. My trigger buttons work just fine, but I'm OCD and feel slightly cheated.
Debating on buying a new controller and returning the old one in its place.
Maybe contact Sony first.
Possibly try to contact Sony first, but I know from first hand experience Sony is pretty hard to deal with.. Not to mention they'll probably want me to pay shipping and won't crossship.
But more than likely, I'll either just live with this minor squeaky sound or exchange at a/the retailer and let them deal with Sony.
Wal-Mart, if I do it. I would go buy a new controller and take mine back to the store for a refund. I wouldn't recommend doing this on old worn out controllers as it's unethical. But in my case my controller is literally new and I spent my hard earned money on something that's not quite right and never was to begin with.
Let us know when you do it. I've personally never explored this part of buying and returning something. I remember back when the Xbox 360 came out, one of my controllers had a loose stick and I didn't know what to do with it, so I just left it in the dust to rot and bought a new one![]()
Could have saved $50
You've never explored it because it's fraud. He's still within the warranty period so he should be going through Sony, not lying to Walmart. It's not their fault
When I suggested something like this years ago with a game, the mods stepped in. We don't need people teaching others how to cheat the return system.
Hmm, didn't know it was fraud. I don't see how he's lying to Walmart though, if his controller really is squeaky.
