SOCOM is pretty fun but it's not as fast paced as Counter-Strike and aiming is a BiAtCh with the double analogs. I highly suggest reading the manual or at least playing the 1 player game before jumping online:eek: I looked like a damn fool trying to climb a ladder not knowing u have to push a button to grab it first. Anybody else online yet?!?!?! Maybe we can make a clan:) Anyhoo, the one thing I liked was everyone was pretty much a "newbie" so no a-holes yelling at each other(i.e. CS) I was the only one alive on my team and shooting at shadows til they put me out of my misery:p Pretty cool none the less.

Did you have a lot of lag ? SOCOM Online has taken a hit recently since 56k'ers found a way to sneak online/

the a-holes yelling at each other was the best part of c-strike!

Really? How did they manange that?

After playing a bit of SOCOM, I said to my friend, "And just how is this more fun than CS?". He couldn't respond..

Is that the only game they have online? Aslo 56kers can just network their 56k from the computer to the playstation right?

LOL yeah that was almost always too funny :D

I hope GC goes online soon! :) And when will games like Street Fighter be online? Now that would rock! :)

Im not sure exactly how but they found a way to trick the software and make it appear as if they have broadband.

I would imagine that even the smallest amount of latency would kill a game like that.

I'd imagine lag would not work in the split second environment that is the 2D (or 3D) fighter.

Wasnt laggy at all, everything went smoothly. I did play at 12:00 am(3 am west coast) so not that many people were online.

I like SOCOM better than CounterStrike precisely because it isn't as fast paced. SOCOM has the elements of strategy and stealth that just aren't really present in CS. Its more fun to me if everyone isn't just running around aimlessly trying to kill anything that moves. I also think they did a great job on the maps in SOCOM.

BTW: My alias is Pusher Bot and I'm usually on the US East 1 or 2 server.

I used to play street fighter on the super nintendo xband online service. The lag was horrible. You got used to it, but it totally changed the game. It was virtually unplayable.

You'd have a huge advantage if you could get it to work I'm sure. I don't think its possible because with the ps2, you've only got one usb port. A hub might work, but then there's the issue of the games supporting the keyboard and mouse.

If someone figured out how to do that though, I'd definatly pick up the game. I can't do FPS with a controller
