Strange that they mention the "South Bridge resource deployment" (whatever that means) as a reason behind this. If it's just a windows 32-bit limitation, I can definitely live with that. However, if it's windows AND a motherboard limitation, that will take some more consideration.

It looks like you really did your homework. I have built quite a few machines and at the have my newest built, my video system. I have a graphic system for Adobe CS & Dreamweaver MX using Win 2000. The other machine is my Linux w/ Fedora Core 4. The last but not least, is my little Dell 600M, loaded with the ability to do video+, maximumized to the T's. The first 3 were built by me and all upgrades on the 600M was my doing.

Just checkout my rig. This is my dream machine. I upgraded from my older version this month, spending about $1000 on eBay. The PCI-E card was more than what was needed. Since I'm not an extreme gamer, the AGP card is more than what's needed for video editing. What I really need is Edius Pro for ultimate editing.

I believe RAM and more RAM is necessary. Get SATA drives forever. Have fun, I did.

Starbuck1975: Thanks for the link to your thread. Did you ever build that computer? As for the 7800gt, putting in the 6600gt is more of a trial run for me. I've never been that impressed with PC games, but I've only played briefly at friends' houses. So, I figure now is the time to give some of them a fair shake. I thought that since I need a video card anyway, I'd spend a little more and get one that can play some stuff and try some games out for myself. If I'm into it and crave the high resolution (which I doubt...you should see what I play my consoles on) then I may upgrade. Check my next reply for my thoughts on the RAM.
Fair enough...my PC use largely revolves around gaming...some photo editing, converting my CD collection into MP3s, a little video editing, and did I mention gaming. I haven't started this build yet as I am still waiting for prices to come down a bit on a few of the components...plus the jury isnt out yet on the X2 processors for gaming...that and none of the nforce4 boards really wow me...waiting for the next Anandtech system recommendation guide to see where my build falls compared to their high end and mid range systems.
