most professors mention how their notes won't help you much because they know wth their talking about so notes + nothing else won't help you. that sucks though... hope you get to drop a test.

i thoguht semaphores had to do with communications? like a semaphore tower? or am i thinking of something else?

Semaphores aren't TOO bad. I wouldn't use his notes though. There are plenty available online that would be much more beneficial than what he's given you. Just about any programming guide to UNIX should have a good section on them.

Is this any operating systems class?
