Hi ATOT. I sent a package from Chicago to Louisiana on July 11th Friday via Priority USPS. Its now July 16th. The package still hasn't made it to its location and USPS shitty tracking system is no help.

Is this normal?

Priority is not a guaranteed 2-3 day service. I have gotten packages (once or twice) take up to 14 days.

That said, I would say if you don't get it within 5 business days it's been lost.

common problem now a days with the increase in fuel cost.

USPS is trying to cut costs by waiting for full trucks / planes b4 leaving.

Normal? No. Possible? Yes. Cause for concern? Not yet.

Priority is *usually* pretty quick, but stuff happens and sometimes one of the stops along the way mis-routes it or forgets it on a truck and it gets delayed.

Better take FedEx, UPS, and DHL too then. Cause they all are gonna do the same. delay shipments that is.

It's definitely the exception more than the rule. I use priority alot, but for anything important I use fedex/ups.

re: Quiksilver: at least fedex/ups and shit have real time tracking.

True, but even still they sometimes do silly routes with the items and don't always update the trackers on time.

Note: I still haven't had anything go wrong with USPS, UPS, or FedEx with any of my orders, the only things I ever encounter was an extra day or two added to the delivery time due to silly driving routes or processing plant maintenance.

Still the best option around with what I would imagine is >97% success rate

Well i made a big mistake using USPS for online trading/selling. The freaking DC # is stuck on what it was on July 11th. POS USPS!

Dude,

You don't know what you are talking about. USPS is the best value for shipping vice UPS/Fedex. Yes, their "tracking" sucks. Why? Because it's not technically tracking your package like UPS or Fedex's systems do.

BTW, you shipped on the 11th (a Friday) Saturday is day1, Sunday is a day of rest. Monday is day 2 and Tuesday id day 3. Today is day 4. Do the math the next time you decide to complain. Your package may very well be there as I type.

USPS insurance pays fast if you opt for it.

I smell a lawsuit.

In all seriousness, Chicago to Louisiana should not have taken more than 3 business days UNLESS it was a rural destination ZIP code (tack on an extra 1-2 business days for that).

Priority Mail is not a guaranteed service; Express Mail is. FedEx Ground would have gotten the package there in 3 days with better tracking for less money; try that next time you're shipping in the same time zone. USPS Priority is still faster to the coasts.

I sent a package on the 5th from Az to PA and the darn thing hasn't arrived yet according to the stupid USPS website. Have no idea where it's at or if it's arrived. Can't understand why anyone or anything can't scan simple bar code is beyond me. Should have sent it with someone else who has a real tracking system.

DC only scans twice: once at receipt and once at delivery.

fed ex ground is not a 3 day service. their ground is about as good as ups ground. they all suck IMO. I just had a fedex package ship from NY->NJ->OR->TN->MD.

but USPS never had a tracking number. It has always been a DELIVERY CONFIRMATION. That's it. You hit a fluke day, if it really was THAT important, you should have used a guaranteed service.
