My printer wont' print cause of vista!

I have a Brother FAX - 4100 and I updated the drivers and made sure the port was on USB and it's still getting an error when trying to print. I need to print some stuff out and vista is preventing me from doing so.
 
Out of curiosity, could it possibly be the USB port that is at the heart of the issue here? Have you tried a different USB port? Is it a USB 1.1 or 2.0 port, and can you change it in the BIOS?
 
I have tried all USB ports and it works on my Desktop (OS=XP). This eliminates the possibility that the printer can be broken, or the usb cable.
 
If you just need it to print black and white, try running it with HP LaserJet 5P drivers, if it is a inkjet try HP 550C drivers.
