My power supply is fine but i think i need a new

ok im probably going to get flamed for this. But about 5 years ago i bought a then "top of the line" sunbeam tech power supply modular sli...It was awesome unitl it died 2 days after warranty and i got no support from sunbeam, never an email or call back desite repeated attempts.

I needed a ps and i needed one fast. so 2.5 years ago i picked up a raid max volcano modular form frys for 29.99 after rebate. Never had a problem with it, voltages have been rock solid always. Its been used on a socket 939 with 5 hd 2 cdrom and an pci express, its been used on an e8400 with 2 drives and 9800 gt, and no i want to use it on my new i7. it has eps so thats good i have my 8 pin. my back up 5770 and the main 5850 both have can be powered by the supply.

It works great...it really does.

but the question is i see there is some ocz supplies on rebate. should i get one. what bothers me about these are they are not truely modular. everything but the power and 8pin/4pin are modular. my raid max....fully modular.

the cheapness in me wont allow me to spend over like 70-80.00 top for a supply
the reason i bring this up is because it just expired warranty.

if i was going to replace it i might go with this.

Heya,

There's a lot of misconception out there about what a good supply is. Really, a good supply is one that simply powers everything and doesn't fry your components. Beyond that, it's a matter of your needs. Some people will say certain brands are bad. But they have no basis for it other than essentially internet gossip. JonnyGuru is a good website for PSU reviews. They review even the ones that some people say are junk (like some cheap Rosewill PSU's) and report them to be fantastic compared to even some of the big names. I recommend you check out JonnyGuru first. Then look at other PSU's.
