My power plug is shorter - what gives?

Making the jump to a new Biostar mainboard - and the power plug is larger than the one that was on the MSI I am replacing. The plug fits - on one end,

Do I need an adapter. The PS is relatively a new Silent X.

sounds like the new mobo is a 24pin... depending on the psu, it might have a little 4 pin plus that connects to one end of the main connector.
 
Sorry about not replying back. I just plugged in the 20 pin after reading that the extra 4 are dedicated to a vid card. As it is right now I am going to use the onboard NVidia 6100. It is a Biostar mATX.
