ttake. sorry dude.

my antec ea-380w has been truckin' for.. i dunno how many years? it's lasted me at least 3 hardware cycles: i7-860k -> i5-2500k -> i5-3750k (current). pretty sure it was running my c2q qx9650 also..

I can't say I think much of Thermaltake full stop. I ordered a BlacX Duet HDD docking bay for a customer. Two out of three high capacity (=>2TB) drives wouldn't work in it despite working on the same system in another enclosure. I contacted tech support and received the most moronic responses back. I public messaged them on FB, they said they would get back to me and never did despite persistent reminders.

I just spent $21 to ship the PSU back to Thermaltake (USPS priority NJ to CA) today. Let's see what they're going to do with it.

This is the first time in my computing history to have a PSU died. Hell even my cheap $27 chinese made 580w PSU is still trucking (bought it at the same time as this "apparently" superior thermaltake).

PC Power and Cooling master race reporting in.

I'm currently running a Turbo-Cool 1200 (80 mm fan version) in my main Windows 7 PC.(the Turbo-Cool 1200 I bought on January 4,2013.)

Also, the Turbo-Cool 510 SLI in my backup Linux PC is from June 2006.Still ticking away nonchalantly.

The TR2 line is pretty bad.

Thermaltake TR2 RX 750 W is, according to our methodology, a flawed product that must be avoided at all costs. It can’t deliver its labeled wattage at high temperatures, but this is not the worst of it: ripple and noise level are way above the maximum allowed when you pull 80% or more from the unit’s labeled capacity (i.e., 600 W and above), overloading your components (especially electrolytic capacitors from the motherboard and video cards), which can cause your PC to present an erratic behavior (crashes and random resets) and, under extreme conditions, damage components.

I have a Thermaltake Pure Power 560, bought it in January of 2004, Still works great. Had to put it back in my main system a couple months ago, when my 10 month old Seasonic MII620 died.

Thermaltake PSUs are hit & miss. Their cheaper brands suck balls, but the Toughpower line is pretty good. I had an original Toughpower (80 Plus) and it gave me four years of strong service. I only got rid of it because I wanted to upgrade to a Seasonic Gold unit.
