So I'm leaving to go shoot an assignment, with my $4,000 camera in hand, when I step out the front door and my porch collapses. (<---landlord fixing it) Boards gave way and I fell ~4 feet to the bottom, smashing my camera against the remaining porch as I fall down. Get up after the initial shock, and the damage is a very skinned elbow, severely stubbed toe, and one 1/2" piece of the body near the battery compartment broken off, and a few deep gouges elsewhere. Camera still works fine so far, but my landlord offered to pay if I so wished for repair. I'ts work issued so I'll leave that up to my boss.

could have been a lot worse!

Ouch that's gotta suck, sorry to hear that :( :( Sounds like your landlord is cool, there are a bunch who'd be complete asswipes and blame it on the homeowner for not "properly" maintaining it or some bs like that.

heh, that was last week on assignment in an airplane. I've decided for all the cool stuff that I go to I don't get nearly enough pictures of myself. So I've decided that every cool assignment I goto or famous person I meet I will take my own picture at the event.

Nice guy? Maybe... He could be also trying to avoid being sued. This is how our world is today, we really don't know which.

Your porch looks like ass. That beam underneath is like broken and rotting away or something. I'd practice leaping over your porch all together.

Your landlord rules, he came same day!?

I still can't believe my "I can fix everything" landlord installed a bathroom door knob backwards... and hot/cold water lines to the sink knobs backwards too. I can fix these things myself, but it's not mine.

Yeah, Nikon D1.

He's not that good of a landlord, this is the same guy who keyed my locked apartment a couple months ago for a non-emergency when I was not there and without permission. I think he was more worried about a lawsuit since there have been so man porch collapes recently.
