My poor Nikon FE!!!

Ack!! I was going to use the FE today, but found something is wrong.

The viewfinder is mostly black, the shutter release button doesn't do anything, and the advance lever is stuck.

So I opened the lens, and found that the focusing screen is unattached, which blocks the shutter from being to move freely.

What the hell happened??!! I know that it didn't hit anything, and I was still using it yesterday!!

Oops! It fell apart. That sucks! I hate it when stuff just falls apart. It means someone didn't build it right in the first place. I don't know much about photography, but at least there are plenty of businesses that repair cameras.

Good Luck!

Lupin, weren't you the one that posted a few days ago about poor focusing on your pix's w/ your new(actually used. just purchased) nikon??? caveat emptor, my friend

doh!---I forgot about that--so DoF wasn't the problem. That sucks---it does sound like you got screwed on the deal. Was it eBay?

luckily it was local shop here in town.

got 60 days warranty on it.. so I'll be ok, unless they ...

Hey Garfang - Nikon does not make cheap cameras. They are all high quality, but there is also alot of wear that goes on inside a camera so it is not suprising it broke.

yeah.. hopefully it won't take too long to repair. I have a friend coming over from NY for the weekend.

the store's sales guy weren't that friendly either, so I hope I won't have much trouble getting the repair done under warranty.
