This morning I get into my car knowing that I needed gas because my gas light was on all the way home last night.

Only thing is, I only have ten bucks on me.

So I make it to the gas station, ask the guy to put in ten bucks, he pumps the gas for about what seemed like a millisecond and takes my two measly fives.

I pull out of the gas station and start heading to work, and notice my gas light is still on.

:(

owned.

I pushed my car to the absolute limit Monday. I went out of town and left my wallet, when I got home I was on 337 miles. My gas light came on at 290.

10 dollars is about a quarter of a tank for me...slightly less these days..but still enough to kick the gas light off. =)

I use credit card for gas ALWAYS. Helps me track it better.

Oh and why were you using full serve?

I was filling up and hit the maximum amount for pay-at-pump with a credit card. It just stopped pumping. :(

In Oregon it's illegal to do self-serve...

I'm not sure about where he lives, but here in New Jersey, it's some kind of law or something... you can't pump your own gas, all stations are full service only.

same here. Just sucks that almost every gas station around here charges extra for using a CC. It started with the Valero stations and caught like wildfire and now almost all gas stations do it. They charge 8-10 cents extra per gallon for each octane level. At first I refused to buy gas from stations that did that, but it's getting harder and harder to find stations that charge the same for credit and cash. I dunno how they are all getting away with it as I thought it's against credit cards' TOS to charge extra for CC

My wife was kind enough to take my car this morning. Get in hers and the low fuel warning came on as soon as I started it.
Of course I am not getting gas until my ride home.

I can't really get mad at her because I told her if she was low to take my car. I just didn't realize how low she really was.
Fuel Range: Low Fuel.

Gee, thanks.

Interac would be fine, if I had money in my bank account. If I go into OD, my wife's panties will get into a furious twist.

We get the point. No need to post it 3 times. ;) j/k

BTW, NJ full serve is still cheaper than MA self serve. One of the few states with cheaper gas than mine (NH).

Man, I always laugh when people bring up the states that prohibits the drivers from pumping their own gas. Maybe they had too many cases of drivers blowing up the gas station while pumping gas.

I only know 1 gas station that has different rates for cash and credit card. Owner's probably evading tax w/ the cash sales.

the station i stopped at was on the way to work, and seeing how i was on fumes i couldn't really be selective about full serve / self serve. honestly though, does it matter? full serve, self serve, i don't really care as long as i get some of that liquid gold in my tank.
