A grown man is now crying (me) because my pole was destroyed and utterly useless. 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁
There goes $80 down the drain, the best ski poles Ive ever owned, was light and kept up with me everywhere I went.
Almost shattered
What it should look like
What it should look like up close
My 6 year old skis
Long story short, an old man ran into me skiing today at Spirit Mountain just outside of Duluth, MN and did this in the middle of a doing a mogul.
Edit: will write the whole story when Im not pissed off, will make me sound less evil.
Well, the whole thing started at about 8:30AM on a Sunday, YA early morning. Skiing has not officially opened yet because there just isnt enough snow for them to open yet. So they only have like 3 runs covered in snow and a city of ~90000 people 10 minutes away. This leads to trouble when everyone who skisboards comes up for the weekend skiing. Im a hardcore skier and bad skiers who go down the one black diamond piss me off temendously. I was trying to teach a friend how to ski moguls he was getting it. Then around 4:30pm an older man, probably in his 50s, starts going down the hill. It was obvious he didnt know what he was doing, because he was going criss-cross down the run. Well I was about half way down the mountain and saw him basically gun it down the hill. I saw him trip no more than 10 feet away above me, and he hit me with his skis. Well one ski took out my knee and the other bent my pole in half 🙁. I was fine, but pole was gone.
The old man got up and said he was sorry and it wasnt his fault for hitting me. It was an accident he fell, and even went toward the black diamond. I was keeping my cool about this because these things can happen, except going the wrong way uphill to get to a black diamond. He went on to say that "I should not have been standing there, and I he isnt going to pay for anything". This pissed me off so much. I told him he fell and literally broke my pole. He said that he wasnt going to pay for it. I then considered, for a second, to fake a knee injury and get some insurance money but figured that would be too mean. The guy quickly said sorry and left.
They werent even a year old. 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁
