As demoralizing as that picture is, I hear the smell is the real killer...

This just can't be over fast enough. :(

Whenever I see pictures of a lot of people, I find myself looking for "waldo" you know the tourist.

Ouch indeed.. I certainly would not want to have to do that, but on the other hand, it would feel good helping out in any way in NY doing anything possible.. come to think of it, i WOULD do something like that if i had the chance.. we thank him and many others like him in their help and support for NY and in Washington.

myputer,

Your husband rocks! I hope you feed him good when he gets home after a long day of working in that mess.:D A full belly will help him to stay strong and make him feel a little better after the horror of working in those conditions.

He works in the building right behind it. He said the smell is really bad there, he also said that he does not know what he would do without the red cross he said the comfort station is like an escape, and that everyone there is so kind. They always try to make him take a nap, and force him to eat!

Yes it is still smoking, there are still fires burning underground. He said there are spots there that are so hot, it starts melting your boots when you walk across it.

Your Husband is doing a great service for the Morale of the City of New York and also for the Nation in whole. This is one of the clearest pictures I have seen of Ground Zero and I find it quite disturbing.

I think any American or her allies that see this photo will be even more determined to get rid of the terroist threat. We as a Nation will overcome this but as the taliban are finding out we are VERY serious in our intent to kick their collective asrses !!

It's great that he is helping rebuild, but don't let him put his mental and physical health at risk. Tell him to take a break. It won't hisself or his family any good if he comes out of this a messed up. And tell we are behind him(too bad not side by side) 100% and that we said thanks for his sacrifice.

He is repairing phone lines there, I can not even imagine what it must be like having to look at that for 12 hours a day, everyday:(

It must be real hard on him, but I'm sure he finds comfort and hope in his loving wife:) and family, as well as the overwhelming support, help and hard work people are putting into sorting the place out.
Regards to you and your brave hubby, myputer:D

What i worry about the most is him getting cancer in the future from being around so much asbestos. He wears a mask the whole time he is there, but still, I don't like it.
