My dad works for Motorola, and is Vice President of a large part that heads up emergency communications in NYC. As you might guess, he's been worked to death lately. Normally, he works over in New Jersey/NYC, but luckily he wasn't over there when the incidents occured. He has been working out of our house, for 20 hour days or so since Tuesday. Today, he got a call from Motorola telling him they desperately needed some more upper management in NYC, and they got special permission from the FAA to fly him over there. A limo showed up 15 minutes later. (!)
Now he's been whisked off to New York, we don't know what kind of plane or anything like that, or what airport he's leaving from, he's supposed to call soon...I'm just so worried about him. He looks terrible all the time, and on top of that, he knew several people who worked in the WTC. He gets pretty much no sleep...the list goes on and on.
I feel somewhat selfish...I mean, tens of thousands of other people have lost their moms and dads, tens of thousands of people have DIED, and I feel upset because of the condition my father is in. Safe and sound.
What an awful week...
