After reading all the political rants on the board this evening, a couple things keep running through my mind.
Now, I don't claim to be Mr. Politics, and there are many people on this forum who I'm sure can talk circles around me on these subjects. However,
(1) Unless I'm sorely mistaken, the President is one factor in the scheme of everything. People seem to want to blame THE President, that one man, for every problem in this country. Some from the board this evening: Bin Laden was alive and able to carry out 9/11 because Clinton didn't work hard enough at tracking down terrorists. My son's school is falling apart because GW is putting too much money into missle defense systems and not enough into school (since when was this not States' concern, anyway?). Etc Etc. You'll find many more if you look around OT, just even this evening. What about congress, the house, the senate, state governments, advisors, boards, supreme court, etc? There's a whole system, people, the prez doesn't just wake up one day and make a few desicions that fvck everything up. Everyone makes these desicions, the majority has to be behind it (otherwise, we would have a king).
(2) Even given what I just said about the President only being a small part of the political process in this nation, can we keep in mind that this guy has arguably the toughest job in the world? How many of you wouldn't fvcking stutter when giving an important address to the entire western world? And many of other things that seem to engrage people about our president(s) are just ridiculous! If you're gonna critisize, critisize something that makes sense and has some relevance to his job. ]
My 2 cents...
