Well, dumbass me decided that I was going to start a fun game known as buying broken ipod mini's off of ebay and returning them to the wild (only to probably be broken again by some jackass who doesn't understand why you can't drop them and throw them around all the time)

Anyways... so I ended up buying 5 ipod's (4 mini's, 1 3rd gen 30GB ipod)... All of the items were in the 60 to 80 dollar range (tying up cash in them) and I wanted to get them quickly, repair them, 2day list them and hopefully make money.

I'll tell you where it all went wrong... This week I received 2 of the ipod mini's (I guess the other 3 people don't know what they hell they're doing shipping items, but again, I digress). So I take apart one ipod that has a broken hard drive. Things go smoothly. I take apart the other ipod with a non working lcd but a "working" hard drive. Oh sure it is recognized by windows but like hell if you can add 1 gig of music in under an hour (bad sectors galore). On top of that it didn't pass the hard drive test in the ipod mini diagnostics (woohoo).

So now I'm left with 2 pieces of sh!t totally $160 some odd dollars and I can't do jack sh!t with either of them. And I'm sure I'm going to have fun with the seller as they'll probably claim they didn't know it wasn't working.

Ugh, never follow an idea where you buy multiple broken items in hope of turning them into working items in a timely and uncostly matter, it just wont f'n work.

Stupid dumbass ebay sellers.

I sniped two auctions thinking I would win one and lose one. Now I won both and now I have two FCUK jackets.

no, sellers, because people don't know what they're talking about when they list items as "working"...

I don't appreciate when I buy something expecting it to work and then it doesn't, especially when I had another project waiting on that item.

I know sh!t happens, but man... way to start out a new "adventure"

Ok this makes no sense.

"I was going to start a fun game known as buying broken ipod mini's "

So you were going to buy broken ipods, but purchased working ones for $60-80.

Link to the auction? If the person sold you an ipod as working, you have a dispute on your hands.

You said you were buying broken ipods in an attempt to repair them and turn around and make money off of them... Then you say you bought Ipods that were listed as "working". The very first sentence says 'dumbass me', but the sellers that you bought broken ipods from are the dumbasses because you were unable to frankenstein a bunch of piece of sh!t ipods into a working one?

I don't even have to say what I'm thinking, you already started the post off with it.

The display on the ipod I bought was broken, however the seller claimed the hard drive worked... which is what I consider "working"... who cares if the lcd didn't work, I could salvage everything else on it (the hard drive being the main reason I bought it, because I wanted the working one to replace the broken one in the other ipod I bought without a working hard drive)

He's an idiot..that's what. He's trying to blame ebay sellers for him buying broken parts and he's unable to fix them.

I think he wanted to buy one with a broken HD but working LCD and then another with a working HD to swap into the first one

I made one working ipod by doing the same thing (though I didn't buy my ipods on ebay)...i don't really use it though, so it just sits on my desk...it's been sitting there for a year.

Not necessarily. He bought a broken ipod which had a bad hard drive, but everything else was fine and then he bought another one where the seller claimed it had a working hdd but a broken screen. But the hdd in the second mini was bad, unlike what the seller had said......

The hard drive works but not very well... that's working so I guess you need to learn definitions of working. :p

Ding ding ding, we have a winner. Why the hell would I buy two absolute broken ipods in hopes of them just magically working. I bought ipods that had specific things bad on them. They were meant to be mix and match parts...

Link to auction please?

If he sold the iPod "as-is," well, you know what you were getting yourself into. And the hard-drive works, yes? It's recognized, so it works. It's not in complete brand-new 100% working order, but you didn't buy one that was in that condition.

We'd have to see the link to the auction to know.

Ding Ding Ding. How about a link to the auction. Additionally, why are you on here b1tching? Shouldn't you be filing a fraud report with paypal and ebay? I mean if it specifically said "HD in full working condition", then you have a good case. We can't tell until we see the auction.
