No, that picture was taken at Fort Stewart, GA, home of the 3rd Infantry Division. We went to Egypt about a month later. I'll have to dig around to find those, but will post when I do.

I cant see them going into battle with gol plated name tags
and no supplies on them

Those are their BDU's. That's the way they always wore them. Never saw them any different. Of course, they didn't train realistically IMHO. They also never trained after dark that I saw.
