My phone decided to go swimming in the kiddy pool last night and drowned. I think I have about 1 month left before i have to sign up for a new plan. Will verizon let me get a new phone right now? maybe i will be able to just sign up for a new plan while i am still paying for my old one? paying 2 phone bills for 1 month should be cheaper than buying a new phone without that huge discount they give you when you sign up for a plan.

any thoughts?

my sis works at us cellular, they regularly let people resign a new contract within a month or two of their current plan ending because people want the new phones anyway

just tell em your plan is almost up, you want to re-sign and get in on a deal with a new phone, whatever they have going, i doubt theyll object.

You can get a new phone from Verizon whenever you want. if you dont want to renew the contract, they will just sell you the phone at full retail price. if you renew, you will get a bargain price on the phone. if you get a good service rep... they will probably give you the new contract with the start date of when this one ends so you do not have to pay two bills.

Yeah, I think with Verizon you can get a new phone/renew contract as early as the 11th month of a 1-year contract or the 22nd month of a 2-year contract and get the latest promo price on the phone. If you're currently on a 2-year contract and renew for another 2 years, I believe you can also take advantage of the "new every 2" deal as early as 22 months into the expiring contract. That is, a free phone that costs up to $100, or a $100 credit towards a phone that costs more than that.

I know the last time I renewed my contract (back in early December), my old one wasn't due to expire till the end of January, and they let me renew and get a free Motorola V265 as well, for renewing for 2 years. I don't think they charged me double for the remaining months on my contract, either, though my new contract expires 2 years from when I renewed in December.
