I see it with men and women, especially fobby types. I think anyone who has spent significant time in the states or grew up here sees it as classless and disgusting. Its a habit that back home, Im sure is widely accepted.

A few years ago I made a thread about visiting chinatown in manhattan and saw everyone spitting all over the place and without regard to strangers nearby.
