My PC won't let me play games

I have 2 games (Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Delta Forcr Black Hawk Down) that I would really like to play, but everytime I begin playing them my PC will literally shut down. I have tried all the suggestions from UBISOFT with no success. A friend of mine said it may be my power supply. Any ideas?

Power supply is a good place to start.

An even better place to start is..........listing all of your hardware components for us to analyze.

My apologies. Here is what I have:

OS - Windows XP Pro
CPU - AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200
RAM - 2gb Patriot
Video Card - GeForce 7600 GT
Sound Card - SB X-Fi Audio
Power supply - Coolermaster Extreme Power 600W

Are you putting the disk in a burner, if so try a rom otherwise it sounds to me like it could be an overheating problem possibly a video card.

Stupid question - do you have a power from PSU plugged into your video card?

I think the GeForce 7600 GT gets all the power it needs from the PCI Express slot, and doesn't have a power connector.

They should play fine with those spec ... did you check your optical drive ? Is it be able to play other game disc fine ? I know it's a long shot but it did happen to me before ... 🙁

Do you have any virtual drives up and running on this system? Its not some kind of Starforce copy protection issue is it?

I installed an OZR GameXStream 700W power supply and things are working great. Both games play just fine. Thanks to all who gave suggestions.
