My PC won't let me play games

I have 2 games (Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Delta Forcr Black Hawk Down) that I would really like to play, but everytime I begin playing them my PC will literally shut down. I have tried all the suggestions from UBISOFT with no success. A friend of mine said it may be my power supply. Any ideas?

My apologies. Here is what I have:

OS - Windows XP Pro
CPU - AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200
RAM - 2gb Patriot
Video Card - GeForce 7600 GT
Sound Card - SB X-Fi Audio
Power supply - Coolermaster Extreme Power 600W

Go to the run prompt and type DXDIAG then run all the tests.

Are you putting the disk in a burner, if so try a rom otherwise it sounds to me like it could be an overheating problem possibly a video card.

Stupid question - do you have a power from PSU plugged into your video card?

I think the GeForce 7600 GT gets all the power it needs from the PCI Express slot, and doesn't have a power connector.

They should play fine with those spec ... did you check your optical drive ? Is it be able to play other game disc fine ? I know it's a long shot but it did happen to me before ...

Do you have any virtual drives up and running on this system? Its not some kind of Starforce copy protection issue is it?

I installed an OZR GameXStream 700W power supply and things are working great. Both games play just fine. Thanks to all who gave suggestions.
