My PC quit, is it dead?

So, last night I was using my comp, and about 3:40, the monitor goes blank, the fans are still spinning, so I blindly enter "shutdown -s -f -t 00" into the run line, press enter, wait a minute, nothing happens. So I turn off my power strip. This morning, I come up to turn it on, and nothing happens (yes, the powerstrip was on). The mainboard LED is flashing off and on with no stop. I can't seem to find any documentation of this problem; does anyone know what wrong? The computer is in a hard-to-reach place, so I'd prefer not to disassemble the whole thing just to diagnose.

Cliffs:

NF7-S r2.0 flashing mobo light constantly
Nothing else happens
really don't want to move computer to diagnose

You do not have a choice not to move the system since it does not power up. You have to try a known working PSU to start with. Without power to the system or the system not running, you can't diagnose accurately.

4+ year old mobo (and most likely built rig seeing as how you don't want to be inconvienenced to move it to check it out) - it could be any number of things.

Dead CMOS battery, failed power supply, faulty video, loose components, dust bunnies running a muck - any host of things. None of those things can be remedied however without moving the computer and opening the case.

It's like going to the service center and telling them you have a dead car - but you left it at home. All they can do is speculate at best.

There is a pretty good chance that computer will remain dead until you move it, open it and check it out. While you are at it - give it a good cleaning while you are at it.
