Hi all,

I tried other forums and threads but nothing works.

I have Gig 7dx MB, i updated the bios via "Micron support site".

I have the Millennia Max XP 1.200, FSB 266 in Raid O

I called Micron support and they won't help me saying it's a software problem(can u believe that crap), it's their Bios update on their site!

When i bought this PC i was told only to update the Bios from their site ,now they won't help me .

This started to happen after i updated the Bios.

Another thing, when it reboots i still see the old bios/build on boot up ,but i ran a program that tells u what bios u have and it shows the new Bios, i'm confused : (

In order to shut down PC i have to hit the button on the case and everytime i start it up it scans all drives for improper shut down.
I'm concern by shuting down like this will cause harm to the computer.

Please any help, step by step.

Thanks so much and HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL AND YOUR LOVE ONES!

Just revert your bios to the old version you upgraded from. When you flash your bios, it should ask you to back up your old version. If it didn't, well, you'll just have to download the old version. If this didn't happen before you upgraded your bios, it's as easy as that.

Check the voltage going to the processor. Might wanna try upping the voltage to it and see if that helps.

You guys are going to kill me, I DIDN'T MAKE A BACKUP OF OLD BIOS(I'M A IDIOT)

As for the voltage, i don't know how to do it.

PS:It never ask me if i wanted to back up old bios.

I tried system restore, still rebooting on it's own.

Thanks for any additional help: )

You should mention more details about what you've tried and what the symptoms are.

You might want to try and reinstall the new bios, just in case something glitched the last time.
If not, maybe you can find a slightly earlier bios version around online and maybe that might help.

Of course now that the bios has been upgraded, all the bios settings have returned to the default values. They should work fine, but maybe there's something that should be changed.

Maybe it has nothing to do with the bios. When you installed the new bios, did you have to do anything inside the computer, like change a jumper? Maybe you knocked loose a connection somewhere. Try and make sure all the connectors are properly seated.

Does using a clean boot disk make any difference? If so, then maybe it IS your software/setup.

How long have you had your PC? Some other part, like the power supply, could just be flaky.
