my pc keeps freezing and i need help!

my pc keeps freezing up.. i flashed and updated my bios.. all the settings are correct... i even formatted my harddrive and reinstalled win 2000.. my computer mostly freezes when running video media.. i have a diamond viper 770 video card.. any ideas on why this keeps happening??

I would agree, probably a heat issue. Check and see that your fans are working properly?

Could also be a memory leak, try testing your RAM.
 
Your video card may be sharing an IRQ, usually the slot right next to the AGP slot shares an IRQ with the AGP slot, it depends on your motherboard. I've got my mom using a Viper 770 in her Athlon 850/Abit KT7 system and it works fine.
 

Did you perform a Microsoft update recently that included Internet Explorer error reporting.

I did. I now get very frequent browser errors with a message asking whether I want to send info on this problem to Microsoft.

I also get Internet Explorer screens that are locked-up and can't be moved or used. The only cure is ctrk-alt-delete, reset, or power down. Nothing short of these three options seems to work.

On the other hand, it just may be I've clobbered some of the software.
