My PC Just Gone Crazy

I have a compaq deskpro with w2k sp4 installed.
two days ago something wiered began to happen, a bunch of programs, folders, and files began to burst openning with no stop.
My anti virus is updated, I tried to scan the PC, nothing seems wrong regarding viruses.
Is this some kinda melicious attack?
Please advice
 
If you ever suspect a malicious attack, disconnect the network cable right away to cut it off. Is your OS totally updated with all patches and updates? Did you scan for spyware? I use MS Anti-Spyware and Adaware SE.
