My Pc just died on me!

My PC spec's

Amd Phenom x2 545 3.0ghz
Msi 785gt e63 MB
Nvidia gts 250 1gb ddr3
Corsair cx 600w BS
4Gb ddr2 ram
Microsoft optical mouse (usb)
Microsoft Keyboard (not usb)
windows 7 64bit
500gb seagate sata HDD

While playing a game my mouse suddenly just shut off (the laser went off). Following up was the keyboard. They just had no power reaching them it seems.

Things I tried to fix the problem.

1) Reputed the mouse and keyboard in same ports. Failed.

2) Reputed the mouse in another usb port. It worked for around 30 seconds and then suddenly it went off. Reputed in other slots but this time not even a flicker.

3) Restarted computer. unusual Delay in booting up. Mouse and keyboard flickering in between. Windows screen pops up and then both my keyboard and mouse went off.

4) Restarted again. This time no display. No beeps. No power to keyboard or mouse. The fans are just running.

5) Reinserted ram and restarted pc. Display is back. I format my OS (fortunately the mouse and keyboard didn't turn off). While installing new OS win7 (last steps) mouse and keyboard go off , it restarts ( procedure) but on restart no display again.

6) Restarted PC , no display , no beeps , no power to mouse or keyboard. Just
fans spinning.

What should I do? I think it is the motherboard but why did it even start after the first restart if it got spoilt. 😵

Do you have another PSU you can try to eliminate that as a possibility?
Also have you done a visual inspection of the caps on your mobo?

I am quite sure that my PSU is working 100% fine yet I will ask my friend for his PSU. Also What should I be looking for in my Mobo exactly?

None. They all seem to be flat from top and perfectly in shape. Some of them just shake a bit when I touch them.

Thats normal. Is it clear of dust in there especially in and around the CPU heat sink, the case fans all clear? I'm just trying to eliminate all possibilities before you go to the expense of replacing the MOBO. Try one mem stick at a time, pull the video card etc. and try powering up in a bare bones situation. Still, check out the PSU, it's not uncommon for one or two of the rails to go bad which is why your fans are spinning, the 5v rail may be working fine while the 12 & 3.3 may have issues.
