Hey guys,

Got me a new case and it includes 2 USB, headphone and microphone plug in the front.
From within the case there are cables soldered onto the back of each plug. The end of the cables are standard USB and RCA plugs (both male).
Its seems as it wants to be plugged into the mobo somewhere? onto a soundcard?

Why do I have these extraneous cables from within my case? I have built the entire PC and feel I do not need them.

Should I "cut" them off? to clean up my PC innards?

they're usually put there so you can run them out the back (through a free pci slot or something) and have front panel access to stuff you'd normally have to reach around for. pretty cool if you ask me.

if you seriously don't think you'd ever use 'em, you could cut 'em...but personally i'd try to wire some of them up and save the trouble of reaching around all the time!
