My parents threw away my DFI mobo box

Built my system in August, cleaned up and stuffed all my boxes into 1 giant box in the garage. I come back for break and the giant box is empty. 2 boxes now sit inside along with an old computer.

I stuffed my fan controller in there including all the 4-3 pin converters which I need now because I got a new fan. I spent hours drilling a new freaking 120mm hole into my case and now I don't have cables.

I lost all my SATA cables (except the 1 im using), all the stuff in my mobo box + fan controller stuff + whatever I could've stuffed there. I consolidated my new build into like 3 separate boxes. Seasonic PSU box, Thermalright box and a DFI box. And my parents throw away the biggest box.. the DFI box along with everything inside of it...

I don't know what to say... I'm pissed but at the same time I'm frustrated. If I need SATA cables now I need to get ripped off to get some? =( I need a 4-3 pin converter to plug the 4 pin fan into a 3 pin fan controller. I have spare ATA cables in there too, one of which is a broken Vantec which I would've warrantied because they get lifetime warranty...

Oh well. I gotta learn to keep stuff in my room from now on.

mark the box? tell the parents what is in it?

get your own place for your own stuff?

good luck

Wow, that is really bad...I guess the only thing you can do is just repurchase the things you need.

I would label my boxes with "DO NOT THROW OUT!" in the future...I hope everything turns out better, who knows maybe you will end up with a better fan controller etc.

my parents arent retards like that. they dont throw crap away without checking what is inside first, and i guess they are smart enough to know that cables and wires != trash. sucks for you.

I can't relate to your parents. I've still got the original box, manuals and hardware that came with my FIC PA-2007 among others. Hell, I've still got original boxes that my car's replacement speakers came in from about 20+ years ago!
