My parents who used to have @Home email are losing theirs on February 28th when @Home shuts down. I've been looking for a free email service that they can use that has POP3 or IMAP so they can continue to use Eudora, but also allows them to use Authenticated SMTP (When you logon to check your email, it allows you to use the SMTP server for a specified amount of time) or any kind of SMTP ... Their new Comcast.Net cablemodem connection doesnt have its email servers running (or at least they haven't received any information on how to access it yet) ... So I figured I would set them up with a bigfoot.com forwarding address and then get them some sortof free email address. I originally looked at amexmail.com but they dont offer POP access unless you have an AMEX card, which they don't.. Also they dont offer SMTP.
Anyone know of any other free services? I looked into a few, including hotpop.com and http://eo.yifan.net ... but hotpop.com says they send you ads, and I know I'm being picky here but the yifan.net one has a weird domain address ... If I can't find anything else I'll probably just go with yifan.net ...
Please remember, my parents need one that offers SMTP. Otherwise they can't send emails since the @Home SMTP will go out of service on Feb 28th, and I don't know if there is a Comcast SMTP yet. Also, I live 3 hours away so I can't stop by to install any SMTP servers like PostCast server (which always crashes on me anyways).
Thanks!!!
