My Parent's 25th Anniversary is coming up

My parents will be married for 25 years. I will be giving my Mom the new china she has eyeing for the past year and I talked to one of the managers and sell it at the sale price that I saw not too long ago...although I went back there 3 times before she did!

As for my Dad here are the criterias
1. Around 1,000 but no more than 1,500
2. A large face watch (Dad has a huge arm, wrist, and hand)
3. Something that I won't dramatically depreciate in value (if that is possible)
4. An automatic

I really like the Monaco chrono auto with the leather band for a formal-looking option or the Carrera watch for a non formal look. But not sure this would be a good buy. I know these are a little above my budget but I would spend a little extra if the watches are worth it.

It's out of my price range for anything that I would want to buy. Plus the watches are a little to small for my Dad and I know he likes the chorno look.
