My palm just fried!!!

Time to add another kill to my track record of decimated electronics. First I lost my fourth (and last) casio databank to the washing machine a few months ago, and now I've smoked my palm m500. I can't exactly figure out what happened, but when I put it on the cradle everything was fine until I smelled something burning, so I checked it out and half the screen had gone completely black. I tried hard resetting the unit, and now the screen looks just fine but it doesn't register any taps. Needless to say I think its time to make another call to palm's tech support. This will be the second time that I've had this unit repaired/replaced, the first time I sent it in was because of a freak accident involving a large glass of fruit punch.

It had worked completely fine until I tried to sync it, so could that have caused it to fry? The only other thing that could have been a problem was the fact that I hadn't charged it in about three weeks. The oddest thing about it is that it only starts up when I stick it in the cradle for a moment and turn it on, but then the screen still won't work 🙁

Don't you know you're supposed to use some lube when you do that? (Sorry, the title made me do it... 🙂 )

Nah - I use mine (also an m500) for a total of about 5 minutes a day. When I'm particularly lazy, and don't have anything important to sync, I've let it run just about dry - which takes a good month at least. Something else is going on there.

edit: typo
