My page file usage and cpu usage keeps increasing when I leave comp on

For some reason, my PF usage keeps increasing the longer I keep my computer on. Maybe I've just never been observant of this, but is this normal? It's gotten to over 500MB with CPU usage at 40%+. At this point, I attempt to close all my background things but it still remains high. Is there possibly a program that is eating away at my memory? Or is this high usage just a sign of me needing to reboot? (which does fix the problem temporarily) Cuz it shouldn't be this high...

Could it be one of my background causing this? I have AntiVir, Kerio 2.1.5, Spybot S&D (teatimer disabled), Spyware Blaster, and SpywareGuard. And I use Miranda as my instant messenger.

I read somewhere it might matter, but on my MSI RX9800 Pro (non-overclocked, non-flashed) I'm using the 4.9 Catalyst with the 8.07 betas on top of it.

If I disable Cool'n'Quiet, my CPU usage drops to like 25%, but my PF usage still remains sky high. Though, I don't notice any noticeable slowdowns when my usages are this high. But it still bugs me a lot.

A couple questions:

1) In Task Manager > Processes, what is getting that CPU time on the list?

2) In Task Manager > Network (assuming WinXP here), what's your network usage like, is something generating traffic?

3) If you're not able to pin down the resource hog from #1 and #2, then does this happen if you boot in Safe Mode and kill off the antivirus, the firewall and all the rest of it?

1) System Idle Process and one instance of svchost.exe (out of 3 instances)

2) doesn't look like there's anything happening here. 0% network utilization, State: Operational

ehh.. not sure about #3, i'll get back to you on that. remember that these massive usages only occur after prolonged time of having my computer on. (> 4 hrs) so it is somewhat hard to test in safe mode (kinda boring in safe mode you know)

Is it a possibility that my the hardware firewall on the nVidia 250gb chipset is conflicting with Kerio?

Are you actually using the nF3 firewall? If so, you could turn it off and see if it has any effect, or turn off Kerio in turn and see if that has any effect, as long as it doesn't pose a security issue while testing.

I know I've been experimenting with Page File recently, and I had it set to 256MB (with min = max)

I bumped the value up to 768MB and things seem to be running smooth now, with no crazy increases in PF Usage. Looks like this has solved the problem.
