I have everything ready for my new P4 box except for the CPU. I was going to get a 2.0ghz but the price is too high, I'll probably get the 1.9ghz version. Well here's what I have ready.

Antec SX830 w/ Enermax 350watt P4 p.s and 4 case fans.
Abit TH711 (socket 478)
Radeon 64mb VIVO SE @225/225 (from my current box, waiting for the Radeon 8500!)
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
USR 56K Hardware PCI OEM model 2977 (no cable or DSL available in my area yet)
2X256mb Samsung 800mhz RDRAM
Promise Fasttrack 100TX2
2X 40gb IBM 60GXP
Sony G400

Since I'm not planning on overclocking I'm going to use the one that comes with the CPU, (I'm buying a retail box CPU)

Why don't you get the 1.8 and o/c it to 2.0? I read in Maximum PC that even o/c'd to 2.0, it still runs very cool and stable, even with a standard hsf....

Looks like a nice system...those Antec SX800 cases are nice. That TH7II-Raid already has built in RAID...why are you getting a RAID card as well? I looked @ Abit's site and it looks like you can't get a TH7II without RAID. Otherwise it looks very nice. :)

Since you got a 478 board (good move), I'd get the cheapest 478 that I could which I think is a 1.7. I'd live with that until the Northwood comes out, then upgrade.

Nice system. I'm sure you will enjoy it. I know I would. :) What are you going to be using it for mostly?

Very nice system, Sean! :)

oldfart, there's also a S478 1.5ghz. But even still, I'd suggest getting at least a 1.7ghz.

Insane3D,

You can buy the TH7II without raid at several places, have one myself.

Sean2002,
I would go with a 1.7 or 1.8, my 1.8 is at 2.1 and my 2.0 is at 2.3 right now with these boards. Asus and Gigabyte will have their s478 boards out shortly also.
